The challenge
The insurer was a carve-out from a merger and acquisition and urgently needed new infrastructure. After analysis, the best path was to use infrastructure already in place rather than build from scratch.
A lift and shift to a public cloud provider was cost-prohibitive at the size of the organization’s infrastructure.
The company wanted dedicated, private infrastructure managed by engineers who understood its application stack and the VMware technologies around it.
It also had explicit disaster recovery and business continuity requirements.
