Cloud
A private cloud that is yours alone, without the data center
A hosted private cloud is single-tenant compute, storage and networking dedicated to one organization and run in a provider’s data center instead of your own. Storcom sizes the environment to your workloads and licensing, migrates your existing virtual machines without re-platforming applications, and supports it 24×7×365.

Who is a hosted private cloud for?
It suits workloads that run all day, every day and need consistent performance: ERP and line-of-business databases, file services and application servers. It also suits software licensed by CPU core. Dedicated hardware lets you size cores to the license instead of to a provider’s instance menu.
And it suits teams that want out of the data center business. If the hardware is aging, the server room needs power or cooling work, or the person who knows the SAN is stretched thin, hosting takes that burden off your plate while the workloads stay familiar.
A landing zone for teams leaving VMware licensing
VMware licensing changes turned many renewals into a budget problem. When a renewal quote lands, we model three paths: stay where you are, move to a hosted private cloud, or re-platform onto another hypervisor. You see pricing for all three before you commit.
Hosted private cloud can be the shortest of the three paths. Your virtual machines move as they are, applications are not re-platformed, and the next hardware refresh comes off your capital plan. What’s included
Dedicated capacity
Compute, memory and storage reserved for you and sized to measured demand, not a T-shirt size. Storage and compute scale independently as needs change.
Storage matched to the workload
Flash for databases and busy VMs, lower-cost tiers for file shares and older data, and object storage for backup copies.
Connectivity to your sites
Site-to-site VPN, SD-WAN or a private circuit, chosen so users and on-premises systems reach hosted workloads with the latency they need.
Backup and recovery built in
Veeam-based backup with immutable copies, plus replication to a second location where recovery objectives call for it, so hosting doesn’t become a single point of failure.
Self-managed or Storcom-managed
Run the servers yourself with familiar tools, or hand Storcom monitoring, patching and support under an agreed scope.
How a move to hosted private cloud works
Discover
We measure CPU, memory, storage and I/O on the workloads you run today, map application dependencies and note any licensing tied to core counts.
Design
We size the dedicated environment, choose the region, and design networking, backup and recovery. You get scope and pricing next to the stay-put and re-platform options.
Migrate
Workloads are replicated, tested and cut over in planned windows with a rollback path. Applications are not re-platformed.
Run
Monitoring and 24×7×365 support against an agreed service level, with capacity reviews as you grow.
Frequently asked questions
Do we have to refactor applications to move to a hosted private cloud?
No. Existing virtual machines move as they are, so applications are not re-platformed or re-architected. Storcom tests each workload in the hosted environment before cutover and keeps a rollback path until you sign off.
How is a hosted private cloud different from Azure or AWS?
A hosted private cloud is dedicated to you, so performance is consistent and cost is based on reserved capacity rather than metered usage. Azure and AWS run on shared infrastructure, bill for what you consume and offer a wide range of platform services. Many organizations use both: steady workloads hosted, variable or cloud-native workloads in public cloud.
Where is the hosted private cloud located?
We confirm the hosting location with you during design, based on where your users are, any data residency requirements and latency back to your sites. Ask us for the facility details your auditors need before you sign.
Can the environment be sized around our software licensing?
Yes. Because the hardware is dedicated, Storcom can configure specific CPU core counts, memory and storage to fit how your database or ERP software is licensed. That avoids paying for cores a workload doesn’t need.
What happens to backup and disaster recovery after we move?
They are designed in from the start. Storcom sets up Veeam-based backup with immutable off-site copies and, where your recovery objectives require it, replication to a second location so a problem at the hosting site doesn’t take you down. A restore is tested as part of the move.
