Tailor-made servers, sized to the workloads you actually run
Data center servers are the physical machines that run your hypervisor, databases and applications. Storcom sizes Dell PowerEdge, HPE ProLiant and Lenovo ThinkSystem servers from your real utilization data, handles procurement and deployment, and manages manufacturer support renewals, so new hosts arrive configured and covered by 24×7×365 support.

The right server is the one sized to your workloads
Servers are easy to overbuy and expensive to underbuy. Core counts now drive more than performance: Windows Server and VMware are both licensed per core, so an oversized host can raise your software bill for as long as you own it.
We start with utilization data from your current hosts: CPU, memory, storage I/O and growth. Then we size for the workloads you run and the years you plan to keep the hardware, compare configurations across Dell, HPE and Lenovo, and recommend one with the reasoning written down.
Dell, HPE or Lenovo: which server platform fits?
All three build reliable mainstream rack servers. The differences that matter are usually management tools, support and what you already run.
| Platform | Management tools | Often a good fit when |
|---|---|---|
| Dell PowerEdge | iDRAC and OpenManage | You standardize on Dell storage and want Dell ProSupport across the estate |
| HPE ProLiant | iLO and HPE Compute Ops Management | You run HPE storage or want cloud-based management of a server fleet |
| Lenovo ThinkSystem | Lenovo XClarity | Value per configuration matters most, or you already run Lenovo hosts |
If you have standardized on one manufacturer, we work within that standard. If you have not, we compare at least two.
Is it time to replace your servers?
- Hosts are out of warranty, or the quote to renew support keeps climbing.
- Firmware and BIOS updates have stopped for your models.
- Your next hypervisor or operating system version no longer supports the hardware.
- CPU or memory runs so hot that you cannot take one host down for patching.
- Older, lower-density hosts cost more to license per core than newer ones would.
- A VMware renewal or platform change is forcing a decision on the hardware anyway.
How a server refresh runs
Discover
A discovery call, then we collect utilization from your current hosts and hypervisor and note licensing constraints.
Design
We size CPU, memory, storage and networking with enough headroom that one host can be offline for maintenance without affecting workloads.
Procure
We quote hardware and support together, so warranty terms are settled up front, and track lead times to your project date.
Deploy
We rack and cable the hosts, update firmware, install and configure the hypervisor or operating system, migrate workloads and retire the old hardware.
Support
We track warranty and support contracts, quote renewals such as Dell ProSupport before they lapse, and provide 24×7×365 support.
Technology we deploy for this
Dell PowerStore, PowerMax, PowerScale, ObjectScale and PowerVault storage, PowerProtect Data Domain, PowerEdge servers and Dell networking, quoted with deal registration and deployed by Storcom engineers.
HPE
HPE ProLiant servers, Alletra, MSA and StoreOnce storage, and networking, configured to your workloads by Storcom and kept under support through their lifecycle.
Lenovo
Lenovo ThinkSystem servers configured to order and quoted with deal registration for compute and virtualization refreshes.
Frequently asked questions
Does Storcom sell Dell ProSupport and other support renewals?
Yes. Storcom quotes Dell ProSupport and the equivalent HPE and Lenovo support contracts, both for new servers and for servers you already own. Where the manufacturer allows it, we align renewal dates so you are not chasing contracts one host at a time.
How do you decide how many servers we need?
We size from your current utilization: CPU, memory, storage I/O and growth, plus headroom so one host can be offline for maintenance. Per-core software licensing also shapes the answer, since fewer, denser hosts can cost less to license. You see the sizing and its assumptions before any quote.
Can Storcom deploy the servers for us?
Yes. Storcom handles racking, cabling, firmware updates, hypervisor or operating system installation, workload migration and retirement of the old hosts. If you prefer, we can deliver configured hardware and leave the final steps to your team.
Should we buy servers or move workloads to the cloud?
It depends on the workload. Steady, predictable workloads can be cheaper to run on owned hardware over the server’s life, while variable or short-lived workloads may fit public cloud or Storcom’s hosted private cloud better. Storcom can model both during design.
Which hypervisors do you work with?
Storcom works with VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V and Nutanix AHV, and helps teams evaluate Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization. If a VMware renewal is behind the refresh, settle the platform decision first, because it changes how you size the hosts.
