Hyper-converged infrastructure for a global event producer
A large, full-service global event production company had outgrown its three-tier virtualized storage and compute while absorbing IT teams from multiple acquisitions. Storcom designed and implemented a hyper-converged platform with built-in data protection and replication. The request backlog cleared, restores take a few clicks, and the team scales by adding building blocks.

The challenge
The company had outgrown its three-tier virtualized storage and compute infrastructure. It needed more capacity and better performance than its legacy systems could deliver.
It also wanted easier scaling plus built-in data protection and business continuity, all run by an IT staff already stretched across too many tasks.
Multiple mergers and acquisitions were underway, and the new platform had to help bring each acquired IT department’s data into the company’s data center.
What Storcom did
We worked with the client to understand its requirements, growth plans and data management strategy, then recommended a hyper-converged platform for both storage and compute.
The design gives administrators simple provisioning of VM storage and compute, and lets them restore VM volumes or individual files in a few clicks, locally and remotely.
Built-in replication makes it straightforward to pull data from acquired IT departments into the data center, and data deduplication is far simpler than before.
The outcome
- The backlog of storage and compute requests was cleared and deployed.
- Day-to-day IT operations run more smoothly.
- The company scales by adding storage or compute resources in a building-block approach when it needs them.
